What we are currently up to...

Vollies help the people and local businesses in the Manjimup Shire in many ways, but we prefer not to treat people and organisations as statistics, so we don't self promote what we do. We leave that up to the discretion of the person/business/organisation who has requested the assistance. 

Here is a list of some of the community assistance we offer.

  • Schools get ALL Items for FREE, including School Uniforms and Costumes, Thanks to Kids in Our Helping Hands Project. 
  • We offer 70% to Share the Dignity.
  • 30% Bulk Order Discounts.
  • 40% Market Store Holders Discount.
  • $30 Credit Back Door Mondays (A fortnightly rolling credit for those re-establishing themselves after hardship).
  • 70% for People needing Crisis Assistance. 
  • FREE Produce for Customers, We Purchase from Our Local Farmers at Market Value.
  • FREE Clothing and Linen Section through School Holidays.
  • Spending Caps for those Re-Establishing Themselves.
  • Funding for Excursions, Field Trips and Projects, Graduation Awards and More.
  • FREE Items for local Community Groups ie: Manjimup R.S.L., Manjimup Men's Shed...etc..
  • FREE Skip Bins from Fonty's Hire for those effected by R.I.E. (Rental Increase Eviction).

We are not government backed and do not apply for grants to help us assist the public and local businesses, we can only assist with what the store makes on its own merit.

As we are volunteering (by original definintion: giving) our time, we DO NOT pay any of our staff for time commitment in-store.  We do give ALL of our Volunteers a 30% Discount OFF ALL PURCHASES which can be Paid-Forward to others in the community.

VOLUNTEER DUTIES
The following are the responsibilities of the volunteer:
1. To perform roles as a volunteer under the supervision and instructions of the shop supervisor.
2. To treat our customers with respect and a professional manner.
3. To provide shop reports in a timely manner.
4. To perform tasks that are in line with the objectives of the organisation.
5. All personal purchases MUST be written in the 'Vollies Purchase Tracking'. Do not steal items or monies from the store. Offenders will be prosecuted by the law.

PUBLIC LIABILITY
As a General Public Volunteer it is acknowledged that you release Vollies Op Shop, its personal affiliates, successors and any linked corporations who might be claimed to be liable. Any claims ,
demands, damages, causes of actions or suits of any kind or nature whatsoever, which now have or
may hereafter have, arising out of or in any way relating to any and all injuries and damages that may develop in the future, as a result of or in any way relating to Liability.
It is understood and agreed that this Release of Liability is made and agreed upon by both parties and that the terms of this Release are contractual and not merely a recital.

BINDING EFFECT
This Release of Liabilty shall be binding upon the undersigned, and their respective heirs, executors, administrators, personal representitives, successors and assigns.

Our Aim is to help the students develop Confidence in the Work Place, the Ability to work with others in a team environment and by themselves, Time Management, Communication & Team Leader Skills and not to mention… just helping them feel comfortable being out in the General Public.

We hope by learning and developing these skills early in their education, they have more confidence and better opportunity of securing an on-the-job training position or a level of employment with your business. Together we can help pave their way to a self-motivated and confident future.

Each student completing the program is provided a Certificate of Achievement and a Reference based on the Store Managers opinion on the student’s capabilities and commitment to roles given. This can be used to help obtain Work Experience, Traineeships, Aprenticeships or secure a Job when they leave school.
